Chess For Kids In South Australia
Chess School SA is a leading provider of chess coaching services in Adelaide, South Australia.
We teach chess in Adelaide Metro and in South Australian Country Schools.
In 2009 we were teaching chess in many Adelaide schools and we started running numerous Chess Incursions in South Australian Country Schools.
Teachers and parents were thrilled, especially in Country Schools.
One teacher noticed how some kids couldn’t get along well in the schoolyard yet they peacefully played chess against each other during The Chess Workshop.
Another teacher noticed how chess is a great game for non-sporty students to shine.
At Chess School we combine modern chess training with the highly-successful Russian method.
We teach with a friendly positive manner making learning chess easy and great fun.

Should Chess Be Taught In Schools?
Seven greatest benefits of chess
- Focus
Children learn how to observe carefully and cultivate patience.
- Visualizing
Chess prompts you to imagine a sequence of actions before it happens.
- Thinking Ahead
Our students are taught to think first, and then act. Over time, chess helps develop patience and thoughtfulness.
- Weighing Options
Children are taught that they don’t have to do the first thing that pops into their mind. They learn to identify alternatives and consider the pros and cons of various actions.
- Analysis and Decision-Making
Decisions are better when guided by logic, rather than impulse, and students learn to evaluate the results of specific actions and sequences.
- Abstract Thinking
This discipline teaches you how to step back periodically from details and consider the bigger picture. You also learn to take patterns used in one context and apply them to different, but related situations.
- Planning
Our instructors will teach your child how to develop goals. Kids are also taught of the need to reevaluate their plans as new developments change the situation.
